This week’s book recommendation comes from Diana Ash, Senior Library Technical Assistant at the North-East Branch of the Kansas City Public Library.

Diana chose “The Water Knife” by Paolo Bacigalupi for financial literacy month.

“Bacigalupi’s use of water as currency made me choose this book for financial literacy month,” Diana said. “In a time not too far in the future, water is more valuable than gold, more expensive than gasoline. “The Water Knife” is a lesson in economics combined with a dark tale of bodies, assassins, and spies. There is no shortage of action, violence, and plot twists. Some people bleed so that others can drink.”

This recommendation is available through the Kansas City Public Library for placing a hold as a physical or digital book.
