Book of Choice:
“Amazons, Abolitionists and Activists: A Graphic History of Women’s Fight for Their Rights ” written by Micki Kendall and illustrated by A. D’Amico

Book Description:
Told from the perspective of an AI robot teacher, future girls are taught the history of women’s resistance against patriarchal powers. The book does not shy away from addressing history where women, particularly white women, were not intersectional in their approaches to liberation and let down their fellow sisters.

Why did you choose this book? “This fresh perspective on the history of women is exactly the book I was looking for, but could not find as a young person. I’m happy it exists now,”  said Windholz.
