Walter White, 72, passed away Sept. 18, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 N.W. 108th St., Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Walter was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a lifelong resident of the Northeast area. He was a four-year Navy veteran. Walter retired as a Captain after 30 years of service for KCPD. He then worked for H&R Block and Jackson-Hewitt.

Walter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katharine; four sons, Michael (Ann Louise), Larry (Lynda), Tom (Debi) and Donald (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Kristi, Nicholas, Erika, Sarah, Steven, Isabella and Michael; one great-grandson, Zachary; his sister, Mary (Dennis) Whalen; nieces, nephews and many special friends.
