Victim of fatal Sunday night crash identified

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The victim in a fatal car crash last night at the 1800 block of N. Topping has been identified as 24-year-old Hoang T. Nguyen.

Authorities responded to a parking lot at 1880 N. Topping in regards to a single-vehicle collision resulting in a serious injury just after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2. An investigation determined that a driver lost control of their vehicle while traveling southbound on N. Topping. The vehicle left the road, made contact with a large rock, and flipped over in a nearby parking lot.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle, and was rushed to an area hospital. He was declared deceased a short time after arriving. The fatality was Kansas City’s 56th traffic-related death of 2016.
