KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The victim in last weekend’s Northeast house fire has been identified.

According to the Kansas City Police Department’s media unit, the victim of the house fire has been identified as William P. Simmons, 61, of Kansas City, Mo. Kansas City Police are still investigating this as a suspicious death.

According to earlier reports by the KCPD, the Kansas City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at around 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, located at 306 Oakley Ave. After putting out the fire, firefighters found a deceased male in the house.
