The Gorman Pool at 1101 NE 47th St. and the Grove Pool at Truman Road and Benton Boulevard are set to open Monday, July 13, at noon.

The Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department announced the pools would be open for recreational swimming on Monday morning.

The pools will be open seven days per week from noon until 7 p.m. Both will offer three two-hour sessions daily, with a $3 admission fee per session.

Sessions will run 12 to 2 p.m., 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. The facilities will be sanitized before each session, according to the department.

With a limit of 60 people per session at the Grove Pool and 100 people per session at the Gorman Pool, admittance will be first come, first serve.

“Limited admittance is to ensure social distancing,” according to a press release from the department. “There will be no re-entry if patrons leave during the session.”

Visitors will be required to wear a mask when not swimming in the pool, as a mandate originally made by Mayor Quinton Lucas on June 27 has been extended indefinitely.

While facility pool furniture will not be available, patrons are allowed to bring in their own.

All other KC Parks spraygrounds, water parks and pools remain closed. For more information visit www.kcparks.org.
