Two men have been charged in the double homicide that occurred near Cliff Drive and Gladstone Boulevard on April 11.

Miguel Apodaca, 27, has been charged with two counts of second degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and knowingly burning.

Todd Fonville, 18, has been charged with two counts of second degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, knowingly burning and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injury. Apodaca is in custody, but Fonville is still at-large.

Fonville attended Holy Cross Catholic School and later Northeast High School, where he was slated to graduate in May.

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, said Fonville is an Eagle Scout, who started associating with the “wrong crowd” this past year.

“It’s just been spiraling down ever since,” she told Northeast News.

Fonville began using drugs and drifted from one friend’s house to the next, she said.

“I don’t know anything more than what I’ve seen on the news.”

The last post on Fonville’s Facebook page was posted approximately two hours after the robbery and homicide April 11. It said, “loving my baby boy.” According to the family member, Fonville was scheduled to appear in court to determine if he was the father of his girlfriend’s child.
