Following up on a social media post that spotlighted another mountain of trash in front of a residence in the 100 block of Cypress, city Illegal Dumping Inspector Travis Silvers paid the property a visit to determine the origin of the mountain of debris.
Silvers, who is stationed at the Mattie Rhodes Center three days a week stated he had met with the owner of the property as well as the property management company on site and issued a 24-hour clean up order to both.
“They have twenty four hours to abate the nuisance otherwise a summons will be issued for illegal dumping” Silvers said.
A representative for the property management company who was using a snow shovel to scoop debris from the house indicated they had evicted their tenant which was the reason for the pile of trash. The pile was larger than two cords of firewood stacked end to end. The property owner left the area as we approached the house.
