The Latino Advocacy Task Force (LATF) is working on a mock cemetery at the Northeast Kansas City Mattie Rhodes Center for Dia de los Muertos. It will honor victims of violence, and provide families with a way to cherish their memories and keep them alive in their hearts.

The LATF was founded in 2010 to serve Latino families who lost a loved one due to any form of violence. This task force focus is to provide support and advocacy for Latino families in need of those types of services.

This year for Day of the Dead, Mattie Rhodes is hosting a mock cemetery for both the Westside and Northeast side. This is the first year it will be hosted in the Northeast, and it is welcomed for anyone who has lost someone due to violence.

LATF will provide a cross with the loved one’s name, and family and friends are welcomed to decorate the cross as well.

The registration deadline has been extended. For more information, please email latinoadvocacytf@gmail.com or call (816) 581-5620.
