KANSAS CITY, Missouri — A teenager was shot and killed Monday, Dec. 28, near the Lykins Neighborhood.
According to an email from the Kansas City Police Department, around 5:45 p.m., officers were called to the area of 10th Street and Monroe Avenue in regards to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an Hispanic male believed to be in his late teens, in a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A short time later, a second victim, an Hispanic female also believed to be in her late teens, arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot. She is listed in fair condition.
Four black males were seen fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.
This victim brings Kansas City’s homicide total to 107.
