KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Community volunteers from Barkley Advertising converged on various locations throughout Kansas City today to take part in service projects in over a dozen neighborhoods.

This group, organized by Sofia Chavez-Barroso and Manny Abarca of Young Latino Professionals, tackled brush overgrowth at the lookout bench near Gladstone Boulevard and Sunrise Drive early on Friday afternoon. The group of roughly 50 volunteers spent close to four hours clearing the panoramic view offered from the park bench overlooking Cliff Drive and the East Bottoms.

“We’re here basically to help the community and work in partnership with Parks and Recreation on projects that may have been lagging due to budgetary or manpower concerns,” said Chavez-Borroso.
