This Saturday, November 25th is the annual Small Business Saturday and the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, along with the Independence Avenue CID, wants to remind you to check out the locally owned small businesses in the Historic Northeast first instead of battling through the crowds in the self-check lanes at the local mega-store. You’ll not only be helping a locally owned small business but you’ll also be helping the Northeast’s business community to grow.

Start off your Small Business Saturday with a chai tea and some avocado toast at Core Coffee, located at 546 Olive in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood. From there, Sharif Store at 2607 Independence Blvd  has some great pricing on house-wares, rugs, cookware and more. Looking for up-to-date urban fashions? One Way Clothing at 2700 Independence is participating in the Northeast Chamber’s 2023 Shop Small event as well.

Along St. John Avenue, Back Door Pottery at 3922 St. John is participating, as is Friends Printing and Embroidery at 5902 St. John and the Afghan Market Store at 4422 St. John.

Rounding out this year’s featured businesses are Las Tres Palmas restaurant with some tasty treats at 4201 E. 9th and Jose Fiestas Rentals at 4832 E. 9th for all your holiday party rental needs.

“We’re trying to spotlight our Northeast Chamber small business members to help them grow their customer base in the Historic Northeast community,” said Northeast Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rebecca Koop.

The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce supports local businesses year round through networking opportunities, pop-ups and other resources. Find more information about the International Marketplace on Independence Avenue and beyond at nekcchamber.org.
