INDEPENDENCE – State Sen. Paul LeVota, D-Independence, is scheduled to host a Dinner and Dialogue with special guest, Independence Mayor Eileen Weir.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, with the public invited to dinner in the auditorium lobby, Van Horn High School, 1109 S. Arlington Ave., in Independence. Dinner is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Beginning at 7 p.m., the dialogue will be held in the Van Horn Mallinson Little Theatre. No public funds will be used for any expenses associated with the dinner.
Senator LeVota and Mayor Weir will discuss issues and legislation affecting Missouri and the greater Independence area. In a press release, Weir said she’s eager to participate in LeVota’s dinner and dialogue event.
“I am grateful to be invited to an event geared towards building a stronger community through informing and strengthening communications with the public,” Weir said.

“I strongly encourage and welcome everyone to join us for dinner and participate in the dialogue. I feel like government is a service industry. I look forward to providing a service to my constituents by addressing their questions and concerns,” LeVota said. “I believe it is important to have open communication with the people of my district. This is a wonderful opportunity for their voices to be heard.”
