Residents near Smart Ave and Bellefontaine awoke to a spate of gunfire this morning that seemed to target a specific residence.
This morning just after 5am, Kansas City, Missouri Police Officers responded to the area of Smart Avenue and Bellefontaine on a sound of shots call. Officers arrived and contacted he residents of a home in the 400 block of Bellefontaine who advised they were asleep when several rounds of gunfire struck their residence. Witnesses indicated that the occupants of a vehicle fired shots toward the house then fled the area. According to Police there were roughly twenty people in the house at the time of the shooting. No suspect or vehicle information is available at this time.
