The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and Greater KC Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline continue to seek assistance from the public regarding the April 24, 2018 homicide of Johnathon Porter, the construction worker shot on the job at 9th and Brooklyn.
A 16 second video was previously released to the public of a man police would like to speak with about this homicide. He was wearing a blue hoodie and grey pants. TIPS to Crime Stoppers have been received however additional information is still needed.
Porter was a sub-contractor working for InfraSource on a gas line replacement for Spire Energy at the time of the homicide. Information suggests that the suspect walked up to Mr. Porter, asked for a cigarette and when he didn’t get one, the suspect shot several times hitting Porter in the chest killing him.
An additional reward contribution of $2,500.00 has been received bringing the total possible reward up to $12,500.00.

Porter’s employer established a website along with the United Way of Greater Kansas City where donations to support and assist Johnathon Porter’s family can be made.
