As individuals and families prepare and file their taxes in time for April 15, some are unaware they could receive another tax break.
For those on a limited income, a rent and property tax rebate is available. Those individuals can receive help in obtaining the rebate and with overall tax preparation, free of charge, if they earn less than $60,000 per year.
Don Bosco Senior Center and AARP Tax Clinics will provide the tax assistance.
Seniors and individuals with disabilities living in the State of Missouri on a limited income are eligible for the rent and property tax rebate. Rebate totals have ranged from $250 to $500.
Tax clinics will be held at the Don Bosco Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays through April 14. Appointments are preferred.
