This morning just after 9:30 a.m., Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched to 16th and Oakley on a shooting call.

Upon arrival officers were directed to a vehicle in an alleyway behind a residence mid-block.

Inside the vehicle officers found an adult male unresponsive. He appeared to have been shot. EMS responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are canvassing for witnesses and processing the evidence here at the scene in hopes of gather information about what led up to the shooting.
