Two teenagers are dead following a double homicide Friday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched on a sound of shots call to the area of 8th and Olive.
When they arrived, officers located two victims, both teenage juveniles. They were shot and deceased just outside of their apartment, according to KCPD.
Initial investigation indicates that there was a domestic situation that led to the shooting. Both victims are said to have just left late night Ramadan services.
“This has been a particularly difficult case,” a KCPD spokesperson said. “The judge has signed a warrant for the listed suspect. We are asking for the public’s help in locating the listed suspect.”
The suspect is Hanad A. Abdiaziz, a 25-year-old Black male.
The victims have been identified as Abdulwahid Abdulaziz, a 16-year-old Black male, and Abdirahman Abdulaziz, a 14-year-old Black male.
KCPD is still working on a motive but it still looks as though it is a domestic situation, police said.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and crime scene technicians are processing the scene.
