A serious injury collision on Thursday at Truman Road and Askew Avenue left one person dead.
Emergency crews responded to the railroad bridge that spans Truman Road at Askew Avenue in regard to a serious injury collision around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Investigation revealed that the driver of an eastbound Lincoln Aviator struck a concrete pillar, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Impairment is under investigation.
KCPD initially listed the vehicle’s driver as being in critical condition, but announced Friday morning that the driver had been pronounced deceased.
This is the first traffic fatality of the year in Kansas City.
