KANSAS CITY, Missouri — This year’s summer concert series at the Kansas City Museum kicks off tonight. However, the weather will determine whether the music is played inside or outside the museum.
Pop duo Victor & Penny kick off the summer concert series, running from 7 – 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, May 8, on the museum grounds. This is a free event that happens rain or shine. Please use the East Gate entrance on Indiana Street to enter the museum grounds. Weather permitting, the concert takes place on the front lawn of Corinthian Hall (the mansion). By 6 p.m. tonight, museum officials will determine if the concert takes place outside on the museum grounds or inside Corinthian Hall. An email update and Facebook post will provide more information later today. If the concert takes place inside Corinthian Hall, there will be limited seating and on a first come, first serve basis.
According to Accuweather.com, there could be some rain this morning, but the rest of the day should be just cloudy.
For the museum grounds, you may bring blankets and lawn chairs. You may also picnic on the museum grounds. Dogs are welcome in the designated area. Food, beverages, and dogs are not allowed inside Corinthian Hall. Street parking is available. Accessible parking only will be allowed in the museum parking lot.
