KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kansas City residents will soon start to notice changes to the entrance, security and floor closings at the Municipal Court.

The north entrance to the Kansas City, Mo., Municipal Court, the main Municipal Court entrance which opens to 11th Street, will be closed beginning Monday, Sept. 14, for construction to continue the Court’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Municipal Court will remain open for business. Courthouse visitors should follow the signs leading them to the south doors, which are located on the side of the building nearest the Kansas City Missouri Police Department headquarters.

Security will be temporarily reconfigured during construction. This change requires everyone, including those paying tickets, to pass through security. Please allow extra time for this delay by arriving about 45 minutes ahead of scheduled court times. Additionally, the second and third floors of the Municipal Court will be closed to the public on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 17, and 18, due to the type of construction scheduled.

The ADA construction project will expand access for all residents through both major and minor updates to nearly every area of Municipal Court. For updates on Municipal Court construction, go to www.kcmo.gov/court/construction.
