Monster Drawing Rally to benefit Newhouse women’s shelter

Women in Design Kansas City will present the “Monster Drawing Rally,” a live drawing and fundraiser to benefit Newhouse.

The event will feature 25-30 local artists, designers, architects and creative people creating Kansas City-themed artwork in one hour before an audience. The art will then be sold in a silent auction. Guests are encouraged to donate used cell phones in exchange for tickets for door prizes, as well.

WiDKC chose Newhouse to benefit from the event due to the Historic Northeast shelter’s increased need. Newhouse is the only domestic violence shelter primarily serving the urban core of Kansas City.

The Monster Drawing Rally will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Arts Incubator Loft Space, 115 W. 18th St. Admission is free.
