As summer draws to a close and teachers prepare to return to their classrooms, either virtually or in person, local McDonald’s have their back.
McDonald’s Owner-Operators in the Kansas City area are participating in a fundraiser launched by the Great Plains Co-Op, Fries for School Supplies.
From Aug. 17 to 23, 10% of proceeds from a la carte fry sales will be donated to local school districts.
More than 130 McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Kansas City metro, Lawrence and St. Joseph will participate.
“Whether this school year will be in-person or online, teachers still need support,” according to the press release. “Through this fundraiser, schools will be able to provide teachers with needed supplies, such as hand sanitizer, whiteboards or hotspots for students.”
