Mary Selene (Morgan) Young, 61, of Sturkie, Ark., formerly of Historic Northeast, died unexpectedly on Jan. 8, 2012, in her home. Interment was held in the Elizabeth Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.

Young was the daughter of Ralph Charles Morgan and Mary Lavinia Dauphin and was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo. She married Gary Young on July 27, 1968, in Kansas City. For more than 15 years, she worked at United Missouri Bank on Independence Avenue and was beloved by many customers and coworkers.

She and her husband moved to Sturkie in 2001 to enjoy their retirement years.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; her daughter, Lavinia (Bryan) Ford of Kansas City; brother, Richard Morgan of Salem, Ark.; two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Duncan; three nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Melinda Bartlett; and her parents.
