It was all smiles at KCPD’s East Patrol station for the annual Blue Holiday event.

Folks lined up out the door to receive all the fixins for a holiday meal, including a turkey, all the sides and a free gift for kids under 14 years of age.

“We had over 500 people through last year,” Major Kari Thompson who heads up the department’s Community Engagement Division said. “We want to make sure we’re meeting the needs of the community and this event helps us stay plugged in and helps those in need in our most vulnerable neighborhoods.”

KCPD Academy Cadets from the 176th entrant class were on hand to provide support for EPD’s Blue Holiday event.

Sponsored included Harvesters, Andy Arnold & Associates Michael Bergen’s Hand to Heart and Eleos Coffee House.
