Police officers have blocked off the intersection of St. John and Hardesty to allow the city’s Public Works crews to install a new mast arm at the intersection.
Crews began the installation process around 10 a.m. today. The 50-foot long mast arm will replace the current traffic signals and will feature two heads in each direction, all flashing red.
A Public Works crew member told Northeast News the mast arm won’t be activated immediately and said they’re still waiting for city orders to activate the signal.
An identical mast arm will be installed later this week at the intersection of St. John and Belmont.
