As momentum for the downtown Kansas City streetcar continues to build, the public will have another opportunity to weigh in on future plans for transit service downtown. To garner feedback, a public workshop will be held on Thursday, April 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Design Center, 1018 Baltimore, Kansas City, Mo.

The Kansas City Transportation Authority (KCATA) is taking initial steps to examine a wide range of potential improvements for downtown bus service and circulation.

Area residents are invited to share their thoughts on KCATA’s planning efforts, which will examine:

•Short-term route changes to simplify and integrate downtown bus and MAX service with the planned streetcar on Main. The two-mile streetcar will operate from the River Market to Crown Center.

•Potential longer-term improvements such as new transit centers, superstops, a transit mall, transit emphasis corridors and a variety of transit priority measures to best support downtown activities and development.
