Kansas City is trying to make it a little easier for residents to dispose of their leaf and brush waste.

Kansas City will still offer residents two curbside and leaf and brush collections and operate its leaf and brush drop-off sites, available to residents for free on Saturdays.

Now, residents can also dispose of their leaf and brush waste on Wednesday, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays for a small fee at the city’s leaf and brush drop-off site at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway.

City officials extended the site’s days of operation to help residents with busy schedules, who may be too busy to drop off leaves and brush on Saturdays.

User fees will help the Chouteau site offer the extended hours. Residents who use the site on days other than Saturday will be charged $1 for each lawn and leaf sack or plastic bag, and loose leaves and brush will cost $5 per cubic yard. The site will continue to be free of charge on Saturdays.

The other drop-off site, located just south of I-470 on the east side of Raytown Road, will maintain its regular schedule of Saturday operation only. Both sites are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
