Dear readers,

In this week’s Print edition, our News team covered stories spotlighting  Sheffield Place residents learning microenterprise skills through creating and selling hand crafted holiday items at the annual Holiday Bazaar. Also included this week is a story on local Author, Playwright and Educator Catherine Browder debuts her new novel The Manning Girl at the Kansas City Museum.

Both of these stories are excellent examples of how The Northeast News continues to provide our readers in the Historic Northeast community, award winning news stories that matter.

We love our jobs, but it’s much more than a job to us. We are your neighbors, embedded in the community we serve every day. We experience the same highs and lows of Northeast, the progress, the problems, the hard work we all put in to move our community forward.

In September, 2023, The Northeast News officially became a non-profit news organization in an effort to grow our capacity and continue providing a free weekly newspaper for the Historic Northeast neighborhoods.

To continue this work, we need your help. Please consider donating what you can to support your community through our reporting. For other opportunities for small businesses and nonprofit partners to support the Northeast News, click here.

As always, our team is working hard to keep you up to date in print, at northeastnews.net, through in-depth interviews on the Northeast Newscast, and on social media. We couldn’t do it without your support.

Sincerely,
Abby Hoover
