Intern Introduction: Lexi Garcia

Our summer interns are diving into investigative journalism, creating the annual Back To School issue, and covering breaking news. Their hard work is funded by the Missouri Press Association. We are pleased to welcome Lexi Garcia to our team. If you see her out and about, make sure to say hi!

Lexi is an incoming senior at Kansas State University majoring in Journalism. She has written for the K-State’s newspaper, “The Collegian,” and worked as a writer and Online Editor for “Manhappenin’ Magazine.” She will serve as the Assistant Editor-In-Chief this upcoming year. Lexi attended Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kan., and graduated in 2018.

“I never really knew my love for writing until my senior year in high school when I joined my yearbook team,” Garcia said. “My goal is to move out of KC and become an Editor of a company or magazine. Besides writing, I like to hang out with friends, watch Netflix, or try new foods. I’m always trying to do something.”
