In the Pink of the Evening summer concert series will kick off at 7 p.m. this Saturday in Historic Northeast.

The free concert series will be held the third Saturday of every month through August and will feature a variety of music genres from country to classic guitar.

Sponsored by Northeast Arts KC, each concert will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Colonnade building at Concourse Park, St. John Avenue and Benton Boulevard. To satisfy your hunger, a “round up” of area food truck vendors will be located along Gladstone Boulevard.

This Saturday’s featured band is Phantoms of the Opry.

“Phantoms Of The Opry is the result of when a few old souls collided in Kansas City,” the Phantoms’ website states. “The aftermath?… a rediscovery of an entire era of forgotten treasures. Treasures from the golden age of country and western swing. Not unlike the local museum of artifacts, we take these treasures and appreciate them for what they are.”

Upcoming bands include Beau Bledsoe and Zhanna, which features classic guitar and flamenco dancing, and Rex Hobart & the Honky Tonk Standards, which features a mix of classic country and honky tonk.
