Wednesday evening at approximately 7:15 pm, Kansas City, MO Police Officers responded to the area of North Hardesty and Saida Avenues on the report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. It was determined that a 9-year old and his father were crossing Hardesty just south of Saida Avenue when a black sedan traveling North on Hardesty struck the 9 year old. That vehicle fled the scene, Northbound on Hardesty. The 9 year old victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

As of Thursday afternoon the child was listed in stable condition, making progress on recovery.
