KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Guadalupe Centers, Inc. has announced the date and location for its annual Blanco y Negro Awards Gala.
The awards dinner and fundraiser will be held Friday, Sept. 12, in the Century Ballroom at the Westin Crown Center, 1 E. Pershing Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Blanco y Negro is the premier formal awards banquet in Kansas City, gathering civic leaders to honor individuals and businesses serving the area’s Latino community. It also serves as the formal kickoff to Hispanic Heritage month. Funds raised annually benefits all GCI programming.
The gala begins with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., with dinner and an awards presentation to follow, and the night ends with entertainment and dancing in alternate party rooms. In addition to awards, GCI will also present the Tony Aguirre Scholarships to nine local Latino youths. The purpose of this award is to assist Latino high school students who are in pursuit of a private secondary education and to assist graduates from Alta Vista Charter High School pursue post-secondary education.
