This week we chatted up Pendleton Heights resident Colby Childress as he wrapped up a sweltering Saturday morning helping clean up Kessler Park near Gate 2 of the Cliff Drive Scenic ByWay.

Colby and his wife have lived in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood for just over a year.

We asked Colby what he likes about living in the Historic Northeast community.

“Oh, man! We love the diversity, we love the, just the kind of neighborhood feel,” he said. “Like porch sitting and talking with your neighbors, we love that community feel of the neighborhood.”

Colby’s favorite aspect of living in HNE?

“Just the willingness to look after the neighborhood, like events, like this (clean-up) just the willingness to support the community,” he said.
