UPDATE: The victim in this case has been identified at twenty nine year old Leroy Purkett.
Just after 1030 officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Drury on a reported shooting.
According to Officer Alayna Gonzalez, KCPD Spokesperson, when officers arrived they located an adult male victim that was lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was unresponsive and officers came and attempted to render aid.
EMS did transport that victim to a local area hospital where they performed all life saving measures that they could do in that due time but unfortunately, our victim did succumb succumb to his injuries and was declared deceased.
Anyone with any information is asked to call thw TIPS Hotline. There is no suspect at this time. As more details vecome available we’ll keep you posted.
