A Kansas City couple, Arthur S. Peterman, 47, and Jenny L. Peterman, 39, of Guinotte Ave., Kansas City, MO, were charged today in connection with alleged sexual assaults, beating and drug use with children, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Arthur Peterman faces 17 criminal counts, including three Statutory Rape, four Child Molestation in the 1st Degree, seven Abuse or Neglect of a Child, one Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and two misdemeanor counts of Furnishing Pornography to a Minor.
His wife, Jenny, faces three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and three counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child.
According to court records filed on Tuesday, October 23, Arthur abused an older child physically and sexually for years on a regular basis. He also assaulted a 9-year-old daughter, sometimes in the presence of his son, and the defendant displayed pornography and prepared meth-amphetamines in the home and smoked and snorted it with the children. One child tested positive for the drug after she was removed from the home. The son was removed with burns and cuts on his body.
While the court records show the children were regularly kept from school, no homeschooling books or materials were found in the house.
Jenny reportedly watched Arthur’s sexual abuse of the children, while physically abusing two of the children. The children told authorities that they were instructed not to tell what was going on in the home.
Arthur Peterman is being held on a bond of $150,000 and Jenny Peterman is being held on a bond of $75,000.
