Jackson County Legislative Chair Jeanie Lauer, along with Vice Chair Megan Marshall, announced on Thursday that a public hearing would be held regarding the site selected by the Kansas City Royals organization for their new stadium.
The session is slated for 3pm this coming Monday, March 11th, in the legislative assembly area on the second floor of the downtown courthouse at 415 E. 12th street.
The hearing, according to the press release from the county, is “critical” and “will serve as a forum for residents, property owners, business owners and all interested parties to voice their concerns, insights and thoughts regarding the proposal for a new Jackson County sales tax to fund a new downtown stadium.”
The release goes on to state that the new stadium proposal “calls for careful consideration and open discussion of the project’s implications.”
