Clowning around. Ronald McDonald paid a visit to Holy Cross Catholic School Nov. 20 to show off his magic tricks and teach the youngsters about the importance of helping others and giving back to the community. “Giving back is being a superhero,” McDonald told the students. Following his show, owner of the local McDonald’s at Independence and Hardesty, Art Phillips, presented the school with 45 soccer balls and 100 scrimmage jerseys. Phillips said he learned the school needed those items, and he decided to help. “We’re a part of the community and being a part of the community means sharing and giving,” Phillips said. “They’ll be able to play for quite some time hopefully with those.” Leslie Collins
