Part of the solution. Sunday afternoon volunteer crews from the Northeast based Clean Up Kessler Park social media group and the group Just People Doing Good Things tackled the Herculean task of clearing brush, invasive species and trash from the Chestnut Greenway in Kessler Park.
The goal is to remove as much brush and trash as possible to allow Parks Department mowing crews to reclaim the original tree line in the park.
According to Houston DeFoe, a spokesman for the Just Good People group, the big picture goal involves reclaiming both sides of Chestnut between the Avenue and the East Bottoms and submitting PIAC requests to the city to build a new sidewalk on the west side of the street.
