Effective Monday, Dec. 13, the Kansas City Municipal Court will launch a call center where residents can directly reach a customer service specialist working inside the courthouse. Residents will spend less time on hold, and will be able to speak to a representative without being transferred.

“This way the residents will have specialists to give them more detailed answers and this will build on customer service. This will streamline the process for residents because they will be able to get information they need much more quickly, ” said Benita Jones, Public Information Officer and Manager of the Resource Center.

Court specialists will be available Monday through Friday during normal business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. They can be reached at (816) 513-2700 or by dialing 311 and selecting 2 for Municipal Court.

Alternatively, Municipal Court questions can be answered electronically by downloading and using the myKCMO app or emailing court@kcmo.org.

In response to the pandemic, Municipal Court moved to a mix of virtual and in-person hearings, expanded the use of remote filings and DocuSign and upgraded the technology used to request a continuance. Additional staff have also been added to the in-court Resource Center to improve customer service.
