Kansas City, Missouri — The Kansas City City Council has appointed Cokethea Hill to serve as Fifth District Council Representative, filling the seat recently left open by Michael Brooks.
In a press release from city officials, as part of this public process the City Council interviewed three finalists, recommended by a citizen’s committee, to serve as Kansas City’s Fifth District Council Representative. The finalists included Rianna Deselich, Hill and Ruth Turner. None of the finalists are running in this year’s council elections.
Hill will be sworn into service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and will serve until a new City Council takes office on Aug. 1, 2015.
