Charles Louis Abbott, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Indian Meadows Nursing Center.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Mo. Arrangements are Passantino Bros. Funeral Home.

Charlie was born July 7, 1939, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He was blessed with an unquenchable thirst for life that carried on to the end. Everyone who knew him loved him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Antoinette (Palermo) Abbott.

He is survived by his son, Tom Abbott and Leslie Bitterman; daughter, Ann Freuck; grandchildren, Michael, Carrie, and Ashley Freuck; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Roseanne Abbott; nephew and niece, Joe Abbott, Angela Abbott; aunt, Carmeline Abbott; and special cousins, Vince and Valerie Abbott, JoAnne and Dr. Steve Gialde, and Carl Anthony Simonie.

Charlie was blessed with many lifelong friends. A special thank you is given to John Soloman and Gene Borserine for their selfless help.

A special thank you, also, is extended to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Joseph Medical Center and Indian Meadows Nursing Center.
