Jackson County Prosecutors filed second degree murder charges against Christopher Sanders of Kansas City Saturday in connection with a Thanksgiving weekend killing of Sherlyn Hill at the Royale Inn at Admiral and the Paseo.

According to court documents, Sanders met the victim and another woman prior to Thanksgiving when he inquired about finding a drug dealer where he could buy some crack cocaine. The women returned to the hotel where Sanders and the victim argued and Sanders kicked the victim repeatedly in the head. Hotel surveillance tapes show a figure leaving the room rented by Sanders, carrying a large object to a stairwell in another area of the hotel, then returning to the same room. Hill’s partially clothed body was discovered this last Wednesday in a stairwell at the hotel.

Sanders was arrested Friday and held in connection with the killing. Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 cash only bond.
