This past weekend, we witnessed yet another mob type event that erupted at the Independence Center. More than 50 police officers were called to the scene from a number of agencies including the Missouri State Highway Patrol. When the dust settled, the event seemed to be a result of some social media conflict between two groups of teenagers with nothing better to do than wreak havoc in a shopping mall.

Of course, determining the difference between a legitimate, sign carrying, chanting protest and a flash mob of trouble-making village idiots can be extremely difficult, even to this experienced news-writin’ pooch. This lil’ doggie is here to admit that “protest fatigue” has set in and our tolerance for sign-totin, bused in rent-a-mobs, flash or otherwise, has dropped to virtually nil. Sadly, however, race hustlers like the “Reverend” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson promise even more “events” across the country, keeping their base whipped up with racially charged rhetoric, ready to pounce on the next tragedy de jour.

This news dog says when is enough, enough? On Aug. 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King challenged society as a whole to judge not based on skin color but on character content. Instead, over 50 years after that speech, we’re being told by the race hustlers and their whipped up mobs that all judgment should be on skin color with no accountability for character content. This doggie ain’t buyin’ what their sellin’ and we’re pretty sure that makes us a racist in their eyes. To that, this dog says we’ll wear that badge proudly and continue to judge on character instead of skin color. Seems to have served us well so far.
