If the attorneys for the burned out Speedy Cash have their way, their predatory lending business at Independence and Prospect would re-open in a few months, continuing to prey on residents with little or no education or means to pay back loans with an interest rate that rivals the national debt. This dog is sure the Mesh and Leggio families are right there with you in your quest to re-open. NOT! Nothing could be further from the truth.
Note to Speedy Cash – your hulking, scorched shell of a building is the last vestige of a needless and tragic fire that killed two Northeast natives who we call heroes. Know this then: Every red cent that’s loaned out of that building will have the blood of Larry Leggio and John Mesh on it. That’s blood money, much like the Northland church financed by a conniving pharmacist who diluted life-saving cancer drugs for his patients. Blood money is what built that church and blood money is what you’ll lend if Speedy Cash is allowed to re-open.
Do the right thing. Tear the building down. Rebuilding and reopening will only serves as a stark reminder of death and greed to two fallen heroes’ families. As for the murderous cretin witch who set the fire, the chambers of hell have got a furnace with your name on it, sister.
