Northeast News
September 17, 2014
There’s a flurry of construction on Independence Avenue these days and it’s not all centered on the demolition of the old Benton Theater at Independence and Benton Boulevards. This news-dog has caught wind of a number of new construction projects that will positively impact the Eastern end of Northeast’s primary thoroughfare. First up, McDonald’s will be getting an extreme makeover at Independence and Hardesty. A spankin new Golden Arches restaurant will be the end result. Trotting down to Independence and Wilson, the Express Stop Phillips 66 will be razed and a brand new building will go up and the site will be completely revamped so the space isn’t so cramped. Add to this the newly expanded Eleos Coffee and the ongoing Advance Auto project at Independence and Chestnut and this news-dog is pretty tickled at the uptick in interest along our Avenue. This lil canine knows of some upcoming projects that we can’t talk about just yet but suffice it to say, there’s some good things happenin along the Avenue and that has this crafty news pooch pretty darn happy.
