One arrest has been made in the theft of a parts department statue of a Native American woman located on the Chouteau Trafficway Greenway just north of Parvin Road. in Kansas City North.
Parks department sources noted the absence of the statue earlier this week and police were notified on Wednesday that the statue had been stolen over the weekend.
What we know is a tip from a metal salvage yard when an individual tried to sell a piece of the statue led to the arrest.
The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 56 year old Charles Fuentes with Felony Receiving Stolen Property. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
