Attendees flocked to the Aug. 11 Community Crime Prevention Showcase held at the Northeast Middle School soccer fields.

The goal of the event was to bring hope to the community and connect area residents to community resources.

A number of community partners hosted the event and included ACTS Ministry, area churches, Hope Faith Ministries, Kansas City Police Department, Kansas City Fire Department and Samuel U. Rogers Health Center.

During the event, organizers hosted a free garage sale and school supplies giveaway. Other activities included a puppet show, free refreshments, a variety of bands, special speakers, carnival games, booths set up by area community organizations and more. Samuel U. Rogers Health Center was also on hand, performing free health screenings for attendees. Photos by Leslie Collins
