KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Bunny the Newshound ran into one of fallen Firefighter John Mesh’s relatives, who shared these unbelievable pictures of the level of appreciation that these firefighters received from their communities.

The American Flag shown above was done for both John Mesh’s station, as well as Larry Leggio’s, and each is made entirely of fire hose material. Each flag measures roughly 5 feet long by 4 feet tall. The banner shown below is a vinyl banner that measures roughly 15 feet long by 3 feet wide. It was, as seen by the signature line, signed and donated by all of Station 10’s homeless neighbors.

“This gives you an idea of how much these guys were appreciated,” Jim Mesh, John Mesh’s brother, said.
