KANSAS CITY, Missouri -A 32-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the Friday, April 14 homicide of Steven Thompson.
Gabriel D. English faces charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree, and two counts of Armed Criminal Action related to the homicide of Thompson and the shooting of another victim.
Police were called to the 400 block of S. Colorado at around 1:00 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 14 on a sound of shots call. Upon arrival officers located the body of one deceased male, later identified as Thompson. Another victim who sustained life threatening injuries was located and transported to a local hospital. Witnesses reported hearing a series of shots, then seeing a silver vehicle speeding down the street toward Independence Ave.
Police tracked the vehicle that English was riding in to the 6400 block of Blue Ridge, finding a Glock 17 firearm inside the car. Under closer examination, police investigators found that the shell casings at the homicide scene matched the rounds found in the Glock.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $350,000 for English.
